of Minnesota Center For Public Health Preparedness
- A part of a coordinated national network of training centers
designed to train state and local public health workers and
others to prepare for and respond to terrorism incidents,
infectious disease outbreaks and emergent public health threats.
Provides national leadership in the areas of:
• Food safety and biosecurity
• Preparedness education evaluation methods
• Environmental health capacity building
• Rural and agroterrorism preparedness
• Occupational safety and worker preparedness
• Cross border preparedness
Center
for Animal Health and Food Safety - University of Minnesota
Center that brings together a critical mass of faculty and
staff committed to animal health and food safety. The Center
focuses its attention on five critical program areas:
• Risk Communication
• Basic and Applied Research
• Integrated Surveillance
• Continuing Education, Graduate and Professional Education
• New Initiative for Safe Supply of Affordable Food
Everywhere
Center
for Infectious Disease Research and Policy - CIDRAP -
Led by Dr. Mike Osterholm, this Center works to prevent illness
and death from infectious diseases through epidemiologic research
and the rapid translation of scientific information into real-world
practical applications and solutions.
National
Center for Food Protection and Defense - Mission is to
advance the security and safety of the nation's food supply
through research, education, and outreach. One of several
DHS-funded Centers of Excellence. Located at the University
of Minnesota.
National EDEN
Network - Serves Extension agents and educators by providing
them access to resources on disaster mitigation, preparedness,
response, and recovery that will enhance their short- and
long-term programming efforts.
